Teacher Professional Development
Wastewater and Aquatic Biology Class for K-12 Classroom Teachers
We offer a professional development course each summer for K-12 classroom teachers. In 2024, we will offer a class titled “Wastewater and Aquatic Biology” on June 20. The class includes interactive classroom instruction, participation in a field-based project, and a tour of the Robert W. Hite Treatment Facility in Denver. Professional development graduate credit is available.
Virtual Classroom
Metro Water Recovery now offers a 30-minute live virtual classroom experience hosted by one of our knowledgeable employees. Tailored to 8- to 10-year-olds, students will (virtually) learn about the wastewater treatment process from start to finish by watching a five-minute video and a short PowerPoint presentation that reinforces what was demonstrated in the video. There is also time for live interaction and Q&A.
Virtual classroom sessions are suitable for in-person classrooms, remote learners and homeschoolers.
Use the form on this page to inquire about or request a virtual classroom session.
Tours
Our 90-minute outside walking tours let you experience the sights, sounds – and smells – of wastewater treatment.
