Inspiring Future Workers at Metro Water Recovery
DENVER, Col. – Take Your Kids to Work Day will kick off on Thursday, April 27 at Metro Water Recovery’s Northern Treatment Plant, 51 Baseline Road, Brighton, CO, 80603. Metro will host future employees who may be the next water scientists, biologists, engineers, and facility operators.
“Our children are our future,” said Patricia Lopez, senior human resources manager, Metro Water Recovery. “The event is an opportunity to explain to the next generation how we protect the environment by providing a critical service to our communities.”
The Working Better Together theme will be demonstrated with a variety of activities for children in kindergarten and older. A tower building competition, a material sorting relay, a scavenger hunt, and a tour of the wastewater treatment facility will be among the highlights for employees and their children. The young guests will also have an opportunity to participate in an instrumentation demonstration and experiment.
